The Voice of Nature
“Imagine how different the world would be if more people asked the simple question: What would Nature do?” Leyla Acaroglu
Have you been wondering about this question?
And perhaps reluctant to take the huge step of adding a formal representative for Nature to your organisation?
“If nature really was the boss… is the opening line of a series of questions which Faith in Nature’s Simeon Rose poses in his recently published book, Nature’s Boardroom: Giving Nature a Voice and a Vote.
Amongst others, we’re invited to consider how accounting methods might change, what key performance indicators might look like and what Nature might ask of Big Pharma.
But, no matter how hard we try to widen our lens, we can never completely step outside our own, human, perspective.
Systemic constellations have something to offer here. When representatives are invited to step into a constellation field, they find themselves experiencing the feelings and thoughts of that which they are representing. Otto Scharmer names this fourth-person knowing: “knowledge that comes through you but is not of you”.
I often invite representatives for Nature, or specific elements of the natural world, into constellations which I facilitate, as a means to gain clarity on where Nature sits in relation to human activity.
As well as introducing a less human-centric perspective to those already giving rights or a voice to Nature, this work offers an opportunity to organisations curious to engage with the principle without the legal machinations required for a formal structure.
Benefits for participants may include:
New perspectives on the impact of your work
Sensing into your organisation’s ‘best’ place to make a difference
